We are an athletic strength and conditioning program designed for any and every individual. Ocean Athletics is a 5,000 square foot warehouse facility on an acre of property in Neptune City, NJ.
All of our elite coaches are CrossFit Level-1 certified, with many holding different specialty certifications such as Mobility, CrossFit Kids, Strong Man, Kettle Bell, Rowing, etc. At Ocean Athletics we are proud to say that we have a strong community. We sweat together, cheer each other on, and share moments together inside and outside the gym.
We offer an athletic regiment of constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity.
So what does that mean for you, the athlete? It means you will be performing a variety of movements like squatting, running, jumping, climbing, lifting and throwing, with a variety of different equipment – pull up bars, kettle bells, medicine balls, ropes, and barbells, etc. in a high intensity workout.
It combines elements of weight lighting, gymnastics, and metabolic condition. Every workout is scaled appropriately to each athlete’s ability regardless of your age or fitness level. At Ocean Athletics we offer more than just traditional CrossFit and are taking a holistic approach to fitness to cater the needs of our members.
We have a diverse community at Ocean Athletics, with members of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. We will work hard together, break down barriers, and set new records. We don’t have room for big egos or bad attitudes.
Whether you are looking to lose weight, switching up your regimen, training for a sport, or just trying our program for the first time, you’ll find the universal scalability of our programming will produce results for members at all levels.
Ryan Sherman, Owner
Before opening Ocean Athletics, I was studying to go to law school, coaching youth and high school soccer, and trying to pursue a professional soccer career. One of my best friends convinced me to start training at a CrossFit gym to help get myself ready for pro soccer trials. I immediately became hooked on being at the gym – not only training but with the surrounding people/community.
I knew I could replicate the same feeling at my very own place. I wanted to create an atmosphere that felt like my high school and college training environment – a fun and challenging place that allows people to achieve their goals. In May of 2014, this dream came true with the help of family and close friends.
I know the hour our members come train with us are some of their best hours of their day and I take pride in that. I also know the amount of trust it takes for someone to listen and believe we can help achieve their goals. My members/community are the #1 reason I am committed to making Ocean Athletics one of the best fitness facilities in the country.
