How Do We Help You Reach Your Goals?

Week 1: Get to know us and what we do at OA
Meet our professional coaches and get familiar with the basic movements you’ll be using in group classes. If you are newer and do not have experience we will be teaching you movements in our OA Fit class. Many of these movements you may already know — we’re just going to make you better at them. Our job is to make you comfortable and confident in our classes. Don’t worry if you need extra time here. Everyone has their own pace.
Week 2: Get Into the Groove
Chat with our staff about your goals and start attending classes that work for your schedule. We have a class for everyone, whether you decide to want to stick with our HIIT classes or jump into a class that uses a barbell we will help guide you in that process. Don’t be afraid to show up early, ask questions, cheer on your peers, and socialize after the workout! Our community means the world to us and we want you to be a part of it.
Week 3: Be Ready to Sweat
Congrats on a few weeks of training here at Ocean Athletics! You have probably met some new friends and surprised yourself by pushing yourself in a tough workout. Take in the community and see how it feels to belong to a group of fit-minded people. We are all here for the common goal and want everyone to succeed. If you surround yourself with others who have achieved your goals, you are more likely to succeed. Remember that you will learn something new every time you walk into the gym and we are constantly evolving to become a better version of ourselves.
Week 4: Keep Going!
You might be feeling a little sore at this point, but that’s a good thing. At Ocean Athletics we like to say “if you aren’t getting sore, you aren’t getting STRONG”. Your body is adapting to your new level of fitness. Just one month of consistent effort and you’ll start seeing results. We’ll check in with your goals and keep you accountable. Keep up the great work.
Week 8: A Happier, Healthier You
After two months of steady work, you’ve learned to do things you never thought you could. You are stronger, faster, and more athletic than you were before. Time to celebrate your new lifestyle of reaching milestones, pushing toward your potential, achieving PRs (personal records), and so much more! At Ocean Athletics we take pride in our members and their success.

I’m not in very good shape… can I do this?
The very first thing you will discover at Ocean Athletics is that we do not discriminate. Whether you are young at heart, or have just completed your 50th marathon, or are recovering from injury or whether walking the dog is the only exercise you’ve had in years, or a former NCAA athlete…We will help you achieve your fitness goals.
One of the things that makes us so unique is our community of people from literally every walk of life: stay-at-home parents, elite athletes, students, CEOs, members of the armed services, firefighters, nurses, doctors you name it. Our bodies come in every imaginable size, shape and age; and yet, our workouts every day are designed for anyone to do them.
What will my first time in your gym be like?
If it’s your first time coming to Ocean Athletics, we want you to feel comfortable and confident. One of our awesome coaches will help guide through your first workout with us. We’ll come up with a game plan relative to where you are. It is important to ask us any questions or make us aware of any concerns you may have, including experience, injuries, etc. The most important thing is for you to get a great workout in and have fun doing so. We know when you walk through our doors you are trusting us and we take that very seriously.
What program is best for me?
Ocean Athletics offers a variety of programs for all type of athletes. Our professional coaches are trained to be able to scale/alter workouts relative to the person. If you have 4 months experience at another affiliate you can start off with our OA CrossFit classes. If you are newer we recommend starting with our OA Fit class, this class is not easier it is just less technical.
What should I bring with me to Ocean Athletics?
If it’s your first time coming to Ocean Athletics, we just ask you to arrive 5-10 mins early. We also would recommend signing up for free trial or drop-in prior to coming so you do not have to fill out any paper work. Athletic attire and water is all you will need! We will help with the rest.
How often do you recommend I come to the gym?
If you’re just starting up, we recommend coming three days/week for your first couple weeks, then build to four, then five. Once you’re up to five days per week, we recommend building in two recovery days per week.
